Stourhead, Wiltshire

Stourhead is a landscape garden inspired by the painted masterpieces of the past.  The landscape garden was the vision of Henry Hoare II.  He was inspired by artists like Claude Lorrain, Nicolas Poussin and Andrea Locatelli, who celebrated beautiful rural landscapes in works of art.
