Above the Marina Grande, Capri
An atmospheric view across the Marina Grande on Capri towards the Sorrento Peninsula. The main town of Capri straddles the eastern part of the island. Capri has two harbours, Marina Piccola and Marina Grande, which is the main port of the island. The marina was once an ancient fishing port and later used by the Romans during the time of Emperor Augustus. Over the years, the port grew bigger, with Emperor Tiberius fortifying the marina even further until it became the main port of Capri.
